Fresh food vendor teams with USA Technologies to enable contactless payments

June 30, 2017

USA Technologies, a provider of cashless and mobile transactions in self-serve retail, is partnering with JuiceBot, a California based technology company reimagining food and beverage distribution systems, according to a press release. JuiceBot's first kiosk machine protects raw, cold pressed juice from light and heat oxidation while eliminating prepackaging.

The company will leverage USAT's API, Quick Connect, to process cashless transactions quickly and securely, track the acceptance of cash, credit or debit cards, and mobile wallet payments, such as Apple Pay, Samsung Pay and Android Pay in order to meet the needs of its customers.

"Our goal is to leverage technology to rethink the distribution challenges that fresh food companies face, while expanding the reach of juice bars and creating cash and cashierless convenience for customers on the go," Kamal Mohamad, founder and CEO, JuiceBot, said in the press release. "USA Technologies has one of the most advanced payment systems on the market for vending. The company's expertise and commitment to service allows us to focus on our core competency, increasing affordability and access to 100 percent organic foods and beverages."

JuiceBot recognized the need to go cashless in part due to the inherent danger of handling raw foods – employees stocking the machines with fresh ingredients should not be handling cash. By implementing USAT's Quick Connect, the company has been able to remedy this situation without having to expand operations or create its own cashless payment points. The company can now quickly connect its specialty vending machines to the ePort Connect service for processing, reporting, loyalty and more.

"JuiceBot is a great addition to our growing roster of non-traditional vending operators using USAT's QuickConnect API to bring the benefits of automation into traditional retail spaces," said Maeve McKenna Duska, senior vice president of sales and marketing, USA Technologies. "We believe this tool saves our customers time, and streamlines customer experiences, and creates an opportunity for resources to be better utilized for higher revenues."
