Breakroom Provisions, ECR Software, USA Technologies partner for self-service corporate vending

A single cashless payment and rewards program across all kiosks, vending machines and POS terminals in a corporate facility is being offered by micro market vendor Breakroom Provisions in partnership with automation technology provider ECR Software and payment technology vendor USA Technologies.

USAT recently announced its Integrated Payment Services platform, which gives operators the ability to support multiple aspects of their business, from vending and micro markets to POS technologies, using USAT's ePort Connect cashless payment and telemetry platform.

As part of the integration between ECRS and USAT, ECRS terminals can use ePort Connect for cashless payments as well as for loyalty and prepaid programs.

"A fully integrated system allows the vending operator to install micro markets, manual food service POS terminals and vending machines, linking them together via the USAT payment mechanism," Peter Catoe, ECRS' president, said in a statement. "It means one card, one processor, one rate, one platform and one accountability source."

Vending operators will be able to offer participants in MORE, USAT's loyalty and prepaid consumer program, the ability to pay and earn rewards throughout the entire corporate facility.

MORE uses Bluetooth Low Energy technology and bidirectional information exchange to enable consumers to make mobile purchases without having to swipe or tap their smartphone against a card reader. It also allows operators to push offers to consumers' smartphones.
