Bluefire interactive kiosk wins Red Dot Product Design Award

April 17, 2018

The Bluefire interactive kiosk from Pan Oston, a provider of interactive self-service terminals and kiosk systems, has received the Red Dot Product Design Award 2018, according to a press release. The award is given to products that combine exceptional design with the best performance.

Bluefire is a customizable kiosk designed to simplify and speed up the interactive process. The standard, but adjustable, hardware configurations are ready for check-out, self-order, registration, gaming, betting, ticketing and more, the release said.

Designers and manufacturers from 59 countries submitted more than 6,300 entries to the competition.

A jury comprising roughly 40 members assessed the products individually. The judging criteria included level of innovation, functionality, formal quality, ergonomics and durability.

"Bluefire kiosk is designed to create a seamless consumer experience," Corné van Braak, head of consultancy and design at Pan Oston, said in the press release. "Driven to simplify self-service in every aspect, all our products are developed with the retailer, consumer and future technology in mind."

"Success in the competition is proof of the good design quality of the products and once again shows that companies are on the right path," said Dr. Peter Zec, founder and CEO of the Red Dot Award. "When I speak about good design, I am referring to more than just an attractive product. All of the products are characterized by outstanding functionality. This demonstrates that the designers have understood their clients and their needs."
