AVT to launch new automated retailer

The automated retailer is designed to hold merchandise, provide product information and send push notifications to nearby shoppers.

April 8, 2016

Vending kiosk and automated retailing manufacturer AVT Inc. will launch its new Multi-Shopper Automated Retailing Experience at the National Automatic Merchandizing Association OneShow 2016 April 13-15 in Chicago. The Multi-Shopper is a self-service solution that is designed to provide the benefits of both traditional and online shopping, according to the press release.

The Multi-Shopper is designed to act as a multimedia retail experience, according to the release. It can hold a variety of merchandize and is integrated with several touchscreens to provide customers with product information and the retailer's online inventory. It can also send out push notifications to attract nearby customers.

The Multi-Shopper was designed as a solution to help ailing traditional stores such as The Gap and Banana Republic come up to speed in terms of technology.

"The Multi-Shopper allows consumers to enjoy the benefits of traditional and online shopping, in a manner that gives businesses a distribution channel with significantly lower acquisition and operational costs," said Wayne Salvino, president of AVT. "Comparing this system to a vending machine is like comparing a new Lamborghini to a Model T."
