AVT lauches U-Shop automated retail for hotels

Automated retailing technology provider AVT Inc. announced the release of its U-Shop system, designed for use within the travel and hospitality industry.

According to the news release, the system offers hotel owners a low-priced, automated store for selling everything from sundry items to consumer electronics.

AVT CEO James Winsor said the system provides opportunities for hotels to increase profits by offering desirable items in a convenient manner.

"We are excited about this new business segment at AVT and see this as a long-term revenue driver," Winsor said. "The new U-Shop from AVT creates new revenues and sales opportunities for hotel owners, at a far lower operating cost than a traditional retail space."
