ADUSA Inc. has released an open identification key for retrieving guest order history as the first product enhancement of 2018 for its Qi software product, according to a press release. The enhancement marks the first of multiple updates the company plans to make this year.
"Being able to accurately identify a guest at the kiosk is the key driver in implementing additional experience enhancing functionality, including retrieving and presenting order history, as well as presenting targeted offers and rewards," Juan C. Perez, CEO of ADUSA, Inc., said in the press release. "It also helps promote a seamless digital engagement model between in-store self-ordering kiosks, and mobile self-ordering apps. Once we've identified the guest, we can send that information to our OrderHUB server, which in turn can retrieve that guest's order history, or through integration with a loyalty/rewards server, retrieve and present targeted offers or loyalty rewards stored in the guest's global account."
The company decided to call its technology "open" because Qi's "My Kiosk" functionality can identify a guest through whichever means the retailer employs, including biometric sensors, facial recognition, swiping a loyalty card, etc. If none of these options exist in the kiosk hardware, guests can still set up an account with a unique pin number that they can then use to identify themselves at the kiosk. This flexibility gives the retailer cost effective options to consider when adding guest ID technology to their self-ordering kiosks.
