Kiosks meet prime time: a cameo kiosk appearance in Rizzoli & Isles

In this week's episode of TNT's hit drama Rizzoli & Isles, titled "Fake it 'til you Make it", Jane Rizzoli, interacts with a car rental video conferencing kiosk when visiting Los Angeles from their native Boston. The kiosk is the star of the scene as they attempt to submit payment and upgrade their vehicle.

In this week's episode of TNT's hit drama Rizzoli & Isles, titled "Fake it 'til you Make it", Jane Rizzoli, interacts with a car rental video conferencing kiosk when visiting Los Angeles from their native Boston.  The kiosk is located inside what is presumably a hotel lobby. ., calling the rental car offices via the kiosk's video conferencing capabilities.

This scenario is a surprisingly realistic example of what tasks and functions a kiosk can perform.  The kiosk hardware is never viewed in full, and the interactive (touchscreen) aspect of the kiosk software/application gets little screen time. There also appears to be either digital signage or print signage announcing the kiosk just to the right of the kiosk location.

Both the kiosk presentation and function is realistic, even including a card swipe reader where the credit card is rejected (Jane's having card issues and Maura's card is needed in order to process payment).

You first see the welcome screen.

The interactive video conference is then connected.  A car rental associate is available to assist.

Credit card payment is attempted and eventually submitted.

End scene.  A great cameo from an interactive kiosk.

What other examples of kiosks in film, television, or other media can you think of?  Are other examples similarly realistic? Have they changed in more recent years?
