Kiosk deployments won big at this year's ICX Association's Elevate Awards 2016, honoring businesses on the cutting edge of customer experience technology.

The ICX Association, which recently hosted its awards party in conjuncture with theICX Summit 2016, honored innovative solutions in retail, health care, corporate communications and other categories. Kiosks claimed awards for "Best ICX Content: Point of Wait " and "Best ICX Deployment: Healthcare: Connected Technology Solutions."

The winner of Best ICX Content: Point of Wait
Two West won for its 2015 Middle of the Map Fest Cross Screen Displays. The company crafted a digital campaign for the Middle of the Map Fest, a Kansas City Film and music festival, where local artists could create posters for all 130 bands that performed at the festival. Once all the posters were finished, the company deployed digital signage, which showcased all the artwork, and it deployed kiosks for users to vote on their favorite posters. The judges gave the following accolades to the company:

  • "Excellent visual presentation. Stunning motion graphics…. Content looks compelling and engaging. The seamless blend between the digital/social/kiosk is also impressive."
  • "The cross-screen displays were beautifully designed - a solid combination of striking visuals and great pacing."
  • "This is the type of application that keeps me motivated after spending 30-plus years in the self-service industry. These guys get it!!"
  • "The multilayered engagement depicted here is where the market is NOW and more of these applications need to happen."

The winner of the Best ICX Deployment: Healthcare

The winner of the Connected Technology Solutions category was CTS Healthcare for its CTS Healthcare Services Patient Passport Express. This is a check-in kiosk for hospitals that is designed with a movable screen to accommodate disabled users. It was also recently integrated with CTS's CleanTouch solution. CleanTouch uses UV-C light to "wash" the screen after each use. It is designed to kill 99.9 percent of bacteria in 30 seconds.

The judges were impressed with the kiosk and gave the following comments:

  • "The CTS Healthcare Services Patient Passport Express is an excellent customer experience solution for patients."
  • "The sleek style and easy-to-follow on-screen prompts along with the movable monitor for ADA compliance is very innovative."
  • "I thought the kiosk was very nice, great ADA integration, considerations for germs in a hospital environment and all the "bells and whistles" to do everything you need at one kiosk."
  • "A kiosk for the hospital check in makes perfect sense. The ADA feature and the UV light are very impressive."
