The State Bank of India (SBI) has introduced banking services in two rural parts of the country using mobile vans outfitted with ATMs and kiosk banking devices, according to The Economic Times.
A similar program begun two years ago in another rural part of India has installed 165 banking kiosks and opened 10,000 new accounts, according to an executive with an SBI partner in the program.
India's Financial Inclusion project is designed to provide banking services to unbanked areas of the country.
