Verifone's self-service payment system gains ground in Canada

VeriFone Systems Inc. has announced the certification of UX Solutions for Canada's contactless debit payment solution Interac Flash 1.5 that provides a mobile NFC payments platform.

VeriFone Systems Inc. has announced the certification of UX Solutions for Canada's contactless debit payment solution Interac Flash 1.5 that provides a mobile NFC payments platform.

MSC, Verifone's Canadian distribution partner, selected unattended payment devices in the UX series to support its EMV-enabled, PCI-compliant unattended payment solution, which includes support for Interac Flash transactions.

UX Solutions provide self-service payment systems designed to increase transaction volume and speed. The system accepts mobile wallet, mag-stripe, and both contact and contactless EMV payments, and it integrates with kiosks, public transportation ticketing, vending machines and more, the company said.

"Secure unattended payments are a rapidly emerging segment in high demand, and we are ready and eager to roll out UX-based solutions to continue meeting this demand across North America," said Doug Hatton, MSC vice president of payment solutions, in the announcement.

The UX series includes:

  • UX 100 PIN pad with integrated LCD screen;
  • UX 110 PIN pad;
  • UX 300 card insertion reader; and
  • UX 400 contactless/NFC acceptance unit.
