VendScreen inks marketing agreement with nonprofit vending and micro-market co-op

June 9, 2014

VendScreen, a Portland, Oregon-based provider of touchscreen payment technology, has signed a marketing alliance with U.S. purchasing cooperative Unified Strategies Group. Arlington Heights, Illinois-based USG is a member-owned, nonprofit corporation that is governed by an elected board of directors. It serves independently-owned vending, office coffee, micro-market and food service operators.

The agreement makes VendScreen’s touchscreen products and services available to USG members at group rates through Dec. 31, 2015. Members also qualify for a flat percentage rate for cashless processing and a set monthly price for monitoring, management and wireless services. USG and VendScreen will work together to market consumer promotions, coupons and on-screen advertising.

“We are giving our members a path to modernize machines with touchscreens that can provide cashless processing, nutrition content, loyalty offers, couponing, on-screen promos and contextual advertising,” Brian Faley, USG’s CEO, said in a statement.

“VendScreen is already working one-on-one with many USG members,” David Grano, VendScreen’s CEO, said in a statement. “The agreement makes touchscreen technology affordable for other members who want to enhance their machines to attract more sales and improve customer service.”

VendScreen devices are powered by a cloud-based computing platform that enables cashless transactions, nutrition information, on-screen promotions, instant help features and credit codes for refunds.

In May 2014, VendScreen said it had added Verizon Wireless as an available wireless carrier for theretrofit 3G devices it has installed on vending machines across the U.S. Previously, all VendScreen 3G devices exclusively accessed Sprint’s cellular network.
