One of Cadbury's latest marketing strategies combined vending machine technology with social networking, according to Digital Spy.
By registering their Facebook profile, customers were treated to a free Cadbury chocolate bar from the Joy Generator vending machine. The machine operated for one day only in Sydney. Visitors logged into their social networking account via an interactive touchscreen.
Based on customers' Facebook data, the Joy Generator was intended to match them to their flavor preference.
The Joy Generator publicity stunt was inspired by the online JoyMaker service, which allows customers to design their own chocolate bars.
