VA seeking contractors to update VetLink kiosks

The Veterans Affairs Department is seeking potential contractors for improvements to VetLink check-in kiosks.

September 11, 2014

The Veterans Affairs Department is seeking potential contractors for improvements to VetLink check-in kiosks, according to an FCW article.

The current kiosks provide veterans with a touchscreen portal at which patients check in, swipe their VA cards and receive an appointment ticket. VA plans to integrate the current system with the Connected Health program.

VA awarded the previous kiosk contract to Vecna Technologies in 2010. The organization plans for new contractors to install HTML5-responsive, cloud-supported kiosks with interface updates. VA intends to install 4,500 kiosks, 331 wall-mounted systems and 540 desktops by the end of 2014.
