USA Technologies and vending and micromarkets company Five Star Food Services announced the completion a large-scale rollout of an initial 3,000 USAT cashless payment ePort systems, with another 3,000 scheduled over the next few months.

Post-installation data analysis of the first three months shows Five Star Food Services logging a 17-percent year-over-year increase in top line sales, both cash and cashless, on about 2,500 machines connected to USAT's ePort Connect Service, the companies said.

Large-scale deployments like this one are an indicator that the vending industry is at an inflection point related to the implementation of cashless, USAT said. The company recently announced that it added 10,000 new connections and 600 customers to its ePort Connect Service in Q1 2015, a network totaling 7,900 customers and 276,000 connections to date.
