U.S. Bank launches E-Payment kiosks

March 25, 2014

U.S. Bank billpay kioskU.S. Bank Global Treasury Management is offering new E-Payment Service Kiosks for businesses, utilities, government entities and non-profit organizations which want to accept electronic payments from their customers on site.

The free-standing kiosks are similar to ATMs and accept a variety of payment methods, including cash, checks, and credit or debit cards. Businesses using the kiosks can access real-time balances and customer payment reports, which helps reduce the costs associated with supporting multiple payment collection processors, U.S. Bank says.

The kiosks, which can be customized to reflect a company's brand, are available in both indoor and outdoor models.

With the addition of E-Payment Service Kiosks, U.S. Bank now offers five payment channels for its E-Payment Service. The four other channels are the Internet, touch-tone telephone (IVR), staffed service centers, and API (application programming interface) based remote Web service.

The E-Payment Service kiosks were piloted in the main downtown Detroit office of the Detroit Water and Sewerage Department (DWSD). "In our current, fast-paced environment, time is everything and our partnership with U.S. Bank has positively affected customer wait times associated with bill payments," Darryl Latimer, DWSD's chief customer service officer and deputy director, said in a statement. "This is a win-win for everyone involved."
