Athletic clothing retailer Under Armour has added phone-charging kiosks to its stores to allow customers to store and charge their devices while shopping. The company teamed up with kiosk manufacturer ChargeItSpot to deploy these kiosks at select stores, according to a reportby The Baltimore Sun.

ChargeitSpot manufacturers kiosks and charging stations for a variety of industries including retailers, casinos, hospitals, malls and stadiums. The Under Armour kiosks have eight charging compartments. In order to use them, the customers enter their phone number to open the compartment and charge their phones. After they are done, they can retrieve their phones by entering their numbers at the kiosk.

ChargeitSpot founder and CEO Douglas Baldasare believes these kiosks can provide Under Armour with valuable consumer information.

"Under Armour is also realizing additional value due to its widespread deployment; its marketing team is able to review data from consumer interactions enabling them to better understand and cater to their valued 'athletes,'" Baldasare said.
