Foreign coins deposited at self-checkout kiosks have led U.K. grocery chain Morrisons to stop accepting all £2 coins ($3.40), reports the Daily Mail.
The foreign coins that have been used in Morrisons self-checkout tills include the €2 coin ($2.71), the Iranian 250 Rial ($0.01) and the Thai 10 baht piece ($0.31), says the Birmingham Mail.
The self-checkout machines have been accepting the foreign coins because they have the same diameter and weight as the £2 coins, a coin expert told the Daily Mail.
The self-checkout tills will continue to reject £2 coins until the problem has been solved, though manned tills will still accept the £2 coins, Morrisons told the Birmingham Mail.
