Twitter-activated vending kiosk doled out free New Balance for National Running Day

To celebrate National Running Day in the U.S. last month, Westin Hotels and New Balance set up a vending kiosk at the Westin New York Grand Central that dispensed free running gear, according to the New Yrok Daily News.

The Twitter-activated machine dispensed 75 free running outfits on a first-come, first-serve, basis, reported Runners World. Runners tweeted their size to receive a clothing package from the vending machine. The package included socks, running shorts and a Westin-branded T-shirt. New Balance shoes were dispensed by staff, Runners World said.

The promotion was part of the Westin Well-Being Movement, a joint promotional program with New Balance which also includes the free loan of New Balance running shoes to Westin Hotel guests.
