Transitions Optical kiosks win retail-marketing award

LEICESTER, England — Transitions Optical has won the Point-Of-Purchase Advertising International Silver Award for its Transitions Optical kiosk.
According to a news release, the project, which involved Working Solutions Ltd. and Sector Design, aimed to introduce customers to the benefits of the Transitions technology at and just before the point of purchase in Optical Express and Pearle opticians stores in the United Kingdom and the Netherlands. The system allows potential customers to discover the benefits of Transitions lenses.
The kiosks use the Acquire Digital Signage and Kiosk system to manage the playback and interactive system, including presenting the interactive content in multiple languages and collecting valuable usage information used in proving ROI.
Working closely with Transitions, the team at Working Solutions took the concepts and developed the interactive system that leads the customer through the process of understanding the benefits, and even provides a simulation of the lenses in different light conditions so that customers can see the effects for themselves. The content also was designed to be used as a sales tool by members of staff at the stores.
