TouchSystems intros energy-efficient upgrades

TouchSystems has announced improvements to its V Series line of large-format touch displays, including the addition of two eco-friendly and energy efficient touchscreens.

The 42- and 46-inch screens are equipped with LED backlighting, a feature that lowers energy consumption and reduces total cost of ownership, according to the announcement. Their internal temperature sensors and fans also help with energy consumption and ensure the longevity of the display in high-use environments such as retail stores and quick service restaurants.

"We know the benefits of using interactive digital displays, but the cost associated with buying and owning them can be an obstacle when it comes to making the final purchasing decision," said Carol Nordin, president of TouchSystems. "As touch screens like our V 42 and V 46 become more affordable and use technologies that lower the cost of overall use and maintenance, more people will be able to invest in them."
