The University of Texas at San Antonio has expanded its dining options with the installation of two Farmer's Fridge smart refrigerators, according to a UTSA Business Affairs report. Located on the Main and Southwest Campuses, these self-serve kiosks offer students, faculty and staff convenient access to a variety of fresh, chef-curated salads, bowls and snacks 24/7.

"We saw a need for accessible food options at the Southwest Campus to support our faculty, staff and students," Gavin Moon, district manager for UTSA Dining, told the news outlet. "Farmer's Fridge was the perfect solution. It offers a variety of wholesome and healthy meals that are replenished regularly, ensuring quality and convenience."

The addition of Farmer's Fridge addresses a growing demand for healthy and readily available meal options, particularly outside of traditional dining hall hours. University officials emphasized that these kiosks were implemented in response to student feedback and aim to enhance the overall campus dining experience.

Farmer's Fridge utilizes a system of regularly restocked refrigerated units. Meals are prepared in a USDA-certified kitchen and delivered directly to the on-campus locations.
