Sprinkles Cupcakes, the company that opened its first cupcake bakery in Beverly Hills nine years ago, has installed a 24-hour cupcake vending machine in New York, according to Reuters.
The pink CupcakeATM is located opposite the Sprinkles Cupcakes bakery on Manhattan's Upper East Side and is restocked throughout the day from the bakery. The vending machine holds 800 cupcakes and sells up to four at a time for around $4 each, according to the Daily Telegraph.
The instant cupcake idea came to Sprinkles Cupcakes' founder when she was pregnant and had a craving for something sweet in the middle of the night, according to the Telegraph.
Sprinkles Cupcakes installed its first vending machine in Beverly Hills, where the company is based, two years ago and now has vending machines in Las Vegas, Dallas, Chicago and Atlanta. Reuters said Sprinkles Cupcakes plans to install the machines in Houston and Washington, D.C.
