Small POS touchscreen now available

June 21, 2012

J2 Retail Systems, a provider of touchscreen technology, has launched the J2 225, its touchscreen computer. The compact unit has a sleek, modern appearance with a 14-inch, LED backlit, 16:9 wide aspect ratio screen that allows for a smaller overall physical footprint, according to a company press release.

"From its high performance capabilities and reliability, to its choice of touchscreens and its small size and weight, the J2 225 computer provides an exceptional ROI with low acquisition costs and a long, dependable life," Alex Nelson, CEO, J2 Retail Systems Inc., said in the release

The J2 225 includes a choice of a zero-bezel, five-wire resistive touchscreen or the multitouch projected capacitive touchscreen. Both are spill-proof, dust-proof and can be cleaned with a standard glass cleaning product. Made of tempered glass, the PCT has no known failure mode; it doesn't "wear out" and is suited for operation in high-use environments because of its reliability and durability — and will work with most gloves and stylus compatible with tablet computers. The PCT touchscreen also provides multitouch and gesturing (or non-gesturing), common in most smart phones, and will be featured in Microsoft's Windows 8 release.

Due to its reduced size and weight, its smaller shipping carton is about the size of an average notebook computer, therefore making it a versatile, cost-effective POS touchscreen computer, Nelson said. The unit comes standard in dark grey, and can be special-ordered with a white base and/or color bezel options.
