Shoppers at the Cherry Hill Mall in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, will now be able to drop off their cell phones at a charging kiosk while they continue to shop. These charging kiosks, made by ChargeItSpot, enable users to drop off their phones into lockers to charge, according to a report by the Courier-Post.
In order to use the kiosks, users simply need to enter their cell phone number and select a security image. From there, they can drop off their phones into one of the lockers, which have charging cables for Android phones and iPhones. In addition, users can download a free ChargeItSpot app, which will tell them where the nearest kiosk is when their battery runs low.
PREIT, the owners of Cherry Hill Mall, installed the kiosks in December for a test run and found the kiosks were used on average 41 times a day for 53.5 minutes. Since the installation at Cherry Hill Mall, shoppers have used the kiosk 1,273 times, according to the report.
