PayPal enables EMV kiosk payments

May 25, 2016

Kiosk company Bouncepad has announced that it has extended its partnership with PayPal from the U.K. to the U.S. The partnership will enable businesses to accept magnetic stripe and EMV chip card payments, as well as contactless payments via apps such as Apple Pay, according to a press release.

Bouncepad first partnered with PayPal in August 2015 to bring the PayPal Here solution to the U.K. With PayPal Here, businesses can accept more forms of payment, such as mobile payments.

Bouncepad is attempting to simplify the U.S. transition to the EMV standard by offering affordable, chip-enabled tablet kiosk solutions such as the Bouncepad Flip and EMV Chip & Pin Cradle, according to the press release.

"Our partnership with PayPal comes at a really important time for retailers and merchants,” said Tobi Schneidler, CEO of Bouncepad. "While many businesses are still navigating the EMV liability shift, consumers expect to pay how they want, wherever they want. With PayPal Here, businesses now have the flexibility of a tablet-based POS system to run their operations and process payments anywhere."
