The Western Union Company, a global payment services company, was recently awarded the "Best New Service" award at the 2015 Corporate Entrepreneur Awards for its self-service kiosk model, according to a press release.
The company's kiosk allows customers to send money transfers both domestically and internationally, and it also enables bill-payment services. The service was introduced at Walgreens and is now located at more than 7,800 Walgreens locations. The Western Union Company integrated its money-transfer and bill-payment services into an existing Walgreens photo kiosks.
The Corporate Entrepreneur Awards is an event dedicated to recognizing business innovation with new products, services and disruptive technology. The award "Best New Service" is given to companies that provide service innovations that redefine an industry, according to the release.
