Outerwall Inc., parent company of Redbox entertainment, Coinstar money services and ecoATM electronics recycling, announced that it will extend the company's charitable partnership with the Seattle Seahawks Spirit of 12 program through the 2014 NFL playoffs.
"We are thrilled to have the opportunity to continue to support the Spirit of 12 Partners during this exciting time for the Seattle Seahawks and our community," Outerwall CEO J. Scott Di Valerio said in a statement. "This sponsorship is a strong reflection of our company's corporate citizenship values dedicated to giving back to the communities in which our customers and employees live and work."
Outerwall will continue its involvement with the Seahawks "Stats for Kids" program as a segment of partnership. The program raises money for local charities based on the final statistics for each home game. For every Seahawks' first down gained at home during the NFL Playoffs, Outerwall will donate $512, up to $10,000 per playoff game, to be divided equally among the Spirit of 12 Partners, the company said. The donation amount of $512 represents the five nonprofit partners and the 12 signifies the Spirit of 12.
"The Spirit of 12 Partners program is a terrific platform that supports many kids throughout the region, and we are excited to continue the program during the playoffs," Seahawks Vice President of Community Relations Mike Flood said in a statement.
Outerwall has donated $91,744 to date to youth programs through the Seahawks' "Stats for Kids" program.
Outerwall is also encouraging 12s to take loose change to Coinstar kiosks and donate directly to the Seattle Seahawk Spirit of 12 Partners.
The Spirit of 12 Partners for the 2014 NFL season are Boys & Girls Clubs Washington State Association, Camp Fire Snohomish, Girl Scouts of Western Washington, Treehouse and YMCA of Greater Seattle.
