Oregon city installs wayfinding kiosks

June 16, 2017

Hillsboro, Oregon has begun installing digital information kiosks at the Tom Hughes Civic Center Plaza on Main Street and at the Hillsboro Central/Southeast Third Avenue Transit Center on Southeast Washington Street, according to The Hillsboro Patch.

The kiosks should be up and running in a few weeks, according to city officials. The kiosks are intended to help build the city's identity as well as help visitors and residents find local parks and businesses.

The kiosks include public Wi-Fi hotspots and solar panels that support the kiosk's lighting, officials said.

Non-digital information kiosks are also being installed in the Civic Center's south plaza and at the Hatfield Government Center Max Station off of West Main Street.
