Philippines-based telecommunications provider Globe Telecom announced it is partnering with Duluth, Ga.-based NCR Corp. to install its self-service NCR Bill Pay solution in retail locations.
"By providing our customers with the ability to come in and pay their bills through an automated solution, we are giving them a better level of customer service — one that separates Globe from our competitors," said Globe's Stores Transformation Department – Ancillary Business director, Ed Reyes, in the announcement.
Globe's kiosk payments have surpassed counter payments and mobile wallet usage significantly since installation, according to the NCR announcement. The kiosks provide additional services as well, such as top-up on pre-paid accounts, or customers can add their balance to their mobile wallet.
In a separate press release, NCR Corp. announced that the company, alongside First National Bank, won the "Best ATM and Kiosk Project in Africa" award, presented at the The Asian Banker's Middle East and Africa Country 2014 awards ceremony held in Dubai.
FNB employed NCR's SelfServ 4 indoor financial kiosk and was the only bank in Africa to win the category.
