NCR Corporation has been named the world's largest supplier of retail self-checkout technology, according to new research published by consulting firm RBR.
The report notes that North America remained the strongest market for self-checkout technology shipments, with about 11,000 units delivered, accounting for 41 percent of the world market. Asia-Pacific saw the greatest percentage growth in self-checkout technology shipments, up nine percent year-over-year as adoption of the technology continues accelerating in that market.
RBR's report also noted that NCR is gaining share in the global market for retail electronic point-of-sale technology. The global technology company is number two in the EPOS technology rankings.
