Bibliotheca ITG, a developer and supplier of library technology solutions for the U.S, Canada and South America, won NCR Corp's 2011 Channel Partner Innovation Award. According to a company press release, the award honors the most innovative, assisted and self-service solutions that have been developed or deployed using NCR technology by its indirect partners over the last year.
Integrated Technology Group (ITG), which merged with Bibliotheca in April to create the company, was the sole North American recipient of the award and one of only four awards across the globe.
In partnership with the NCR Consumer Experience Lab, Bibliotheca ITG integrates the NCR SelfServ 60 kiosk hardware with its own software to develop a self-checkout solution for libraries allowing customers to check out and return books quickly. Bibliotheca ITG solutions are deployed in more than 400 libraries across North America. According to the release, NCR kiosks enhance the self-checkout experience and combined with innovative RFID technology, allow library staff to spend more time with customers who need help and advice on finding relevant books and research materials.
"These awards show how collaborative innovation can help businesses improve service, enhance productivity, reduce costs and boost revenues, which is a core focus of our indirect strategy," sid David Wilkinson, NCR's vice president of global channel sales, in the release.
Shai Robkin, CEO of Bibliotheca ITG, said, "Bibliotheca ITG's partnership with NCR - a well-established leader in self-service technologies - has proved very successful. Our relationship has helped us accelerate the success of our library self-checkout application with a proven, trusted partner with outstanding products and diverse market expertise."
