MindBio Therapeutics Corp. has completed manufacturing a kiosk designed to identify potential drug or alcohol impairment by analyzing a person's voice, according to a press release. The company is targeting an initial commercial pilot later this year to evaluate the technology in a real-world setting.
The kiosk builds on a prototype developed in June. Software integration, system testing, and validation remain underway, with the company comparing its predictive models against breath-alcohol and oral-fluid tests. MindBio said its alcohol prediction model draws on more than 50 million data points.
The company is targeting mining, aviation, construction, heavy transportation and law enforcement. It aims to make screening faster and less intrusive while reducing administrative costs and disruptions. The proposed pilot would help assess performance outside controlled settings and compare results with established testing methods.
