Mercer University adds self-service ordering kiosk to Atlanta campus dining

The university converted the former Toby's cafeteria in the Student Affairs Building into The Drop, a virtual kitchen concept offering contactless pickup. The Drop offers made-to-order staples such as burgers, chicken tenders and fries along with rotating selections designed to provide more variety throughout the academic year. Other choices include breakfast items, pizza, customizable salads and sandwiches, prepared entrees, comfort foods, boba and coffee beverages. The Atlanta concept builds on Mercer's experience operating The Drop on its Macon campus and is intended to create greater consistency between the two locations while giving Atlanta students more dining options.

Mercer also upgraded the Atlanta dining area's equipment and technology as part of a broader effort to improve operational efficiency and accommodate additional food concepts. In another change, Mercer Culinary Group has brought catering for Atlanta campus events in-house rather than relying on an outside vendor. University officials said the changes are intended to modernize campus dining while making food service more convenient and responsive to student preferences.
