A company called MedicSpot has set up kiosks in pharmacies across the U.K. that connect people to a real physician via a video screen and phone, according to the company's website.
The MedicSpot clinic stations are stocked with examination equipment, including a blood pressure cuff, stethoscope, pulse oximeter, thermometer and a camera that can give the doctor a look into the patient’s throat and ears. The doctor can also write a prescription if needed.
People can book appointments in advance online.
The MedicSpot website enables users to find a pharmacy with a MedicSpot closest to them. It provides a list of the doctors who provide the consultations.
MedicSpot can deal with 95 percent of all cases.
Consultations cost £30 and last around 10 minutes.
