Medical group deploys kiosks, patient engagement system in Virginia

Reston Radiology Consultants, a physicians group serving northern Virginia with hospital-based services at Reston Hospital Center and StoneSprings Hospital Center, has deployed kiosks and online patient engagement tools that will allow patients to preregister for exams; view test results and images after their exams; securely communicate with the clinic; and view and pay their estimated patient responsibilities online, according to a press release.

The solution retains patient history, asking only a few additional questions for returning patients and taking payment at Royal point-of-sale kiosks. In minutes, patients are checked in and ready to start the next step of their visit.

RoyalPay, a web-based payments engine, allows clients to eliminate manual eligibility checks and complex payment calculations while increasing the value and accuracy of time-of-service payments.

The increased daily cash flow and reduced invoicing and collection activities allow RoyalPay customers to benefit from an instant ROI, the release said.
