Magtek introduces mobile card reader authenticator

Magtek Inc., a provider of retail payments security technology, has released iDynamo 6, a card reader authenticator built to work with iOS, Android and Windows which satisfies the requirements of ISVs, VARs and resellers for a single device that can work across platforms.

With the growing need to accept multiple payment options, including magnetic stripe cards, contact and contactless chip cards, and NFC payments, iDynamo 6 is designed to securely accomplish these transactions in a flexible form factor, according to a press release. Additionally, with the proliferation of iOS and Android-based payment solutions, Magtek's iDynamo 6 is built to fit with a wide variety of mobile phones and tablets.

"As the mobile landscape broadens and opportunities to accept payments increase, solution providers need a card reader they can easily integrate into their applications," John Arato, Magtek's vice president and general manager of retail solutions, said in the release.

iDynamo 6 offers an optional battery pack in addition to its universal mounting system which uses a stabilizing bracket design that attaches to the host device. iDynamo 6 is compatible with multiple operating systems and offers four separate connection options including Lightning, USB Type C (male), USB Type C (female) and micro USB.
