Las Cruces, New Mexico considers touchscreen kiosks for downtown

January 3, 2018

Philip San Filippo, economic development director for Las Cruces, New Mexico, said the city is considering installing touchscreen, informational electronic kiosks at the Plaza de Las Cruces and near an under-construction development referred to as The Amador, located at the south end of the downtown, according to the Las Cruces Sun-News.

Lawmakers recently approved $750,000 for economic development.

City Councilor Kasandra Gandara, whose district includes downtown, said she likes the idea of kiosks, but is concerned about the city's ability to counter graffiti in that area.
