Kiosk to locate soldiers on Florida Vietnam War monument

Florida's Veteran's Memorial Park in Pensacola will soon add a kiosk to its Wall South Vietnam War monument.

August 28, 2014

Florida's Veteran's Memorial Park in Pensacola will soon add a kiosk to its Wall South Vietnam War monument, said a Pensacola News Journal article.

The computerized and covered kiosk will allow visitors to search the names of fallen soldiers and locate them on the Wall. Visual content will show the park's history, and card scanners are planned for installment so visitors can donate to the park's foundation. The foundation purchased the kiosk for $120,000 through private funding, most of which came from BP oil-spill restoration funds.

The kiosk is replacing an older version that sat at the park for more than a decade but rarely worked, according to the article. The park hopes to have the kiosk up and running by Nov. 11, Veteran's Day.
