Representatives from the Kiosk Manufacturer Association and other industry insiders will meet with U.S. Access Board Executive Director Sachin Dev Pavithran and his staff Sept. 15 in Washington, D.C, according to a press release. The discussion will focus on accessibility considerations for self-service kiosks in retail, vending and other public-facing settings.

Participants will include representatives from Tech For All, Storm Interface and Dot Inc. The meeting will allow the association's Accessibility Committee to reconnect with the federal agency and provide industry perspectives on making self-service technology more accessible.

KMA Executive Director Craig Allen Keefner said kiosks should allow people of all abilities to complete transactions and obtain services independently. Planned topics include voice and audio interfaces, accessible payment systems, artificial intelligence-assisted interactions and other emerging accessibility technologies.
