KICTeam receives patents for automated cleaning cards

KICTeam, which provides cleaning solutions for technology equipment including kiosks, vending machines and ATMs, has received design and method patents for its "autoclean" technology, which uses the drive motors of the device to do the cleaning, according to a press release.

The custom-designed cards lock in place inside a device, letting the belts and rollers scrub themselves clean against the card as the motor runs. By automating the cleaning process, KICTeam enables cleaning in a fraction of the time it used to take, the company said.

The company claims that used on ATMs, the cards allow service technicians to perform a thorough cleaning, which previously took nearly an hour, in a matter of minutes. Free from the dirt and debris, the ATMs had increased availability, improved performance and created a better user experience.

"These latest patents are our ninth and tenth, demonstrating our leadership position," Ian McCormick, KICTeam CEO, said in the release. "More importantly, the Autoclean patents underscore KICTeam's unique ability to deliver what our customers require — top performance and visible results."
