A trio of self-serve kiosks in United Supermarkets in Amarillo, Texas, will permit shoppers to make copies and create cloud storage for RFID-based keycards in addition to the traditional brass and automotive keys, according to the Amarillo Globe-News.
The KeyMe smart kiosks have been updated to facilitate making copies of RFID cards. Data can be copied onto a variety of designs and formats including fob, keycard and stickers that can go on smartphones.
Duplicates can be created and sent directly to the keyholder's home in two or three business days in a secure RFID-blocking sleeve that prevents anyone from reading the card in transit.
A total of 111 KeyMe kiosks that offer RFID scanning have gone live in New York, California, Texas and Washington.
