Kaba Access & Data Systems Americas, an electronic lock supplier for themultifamily housing market, has added the K-COD 200 self-service kiosk to complement its electronic lock products for the military housing market. The keycard self-service kiosk dispenses temporary keycards for unit locks to military residents and offers management an around-the-clock solution without around-the-clock staffing, according to a company news release.
Residents use the touchscreen technology to type their name and enter their PIN. Once the information is verified against the database, K-COD 200 issues a new temporary keycard.
Together with Ariane Systems North America, a provider of self-check solutions for the hospitality market, Kaba ADS Americas has developed custom software to integrate with Kaba's System 6000 operating software for Kaba magstripe and RFID electronic locking systems. The unit's software interfaces with the desk system to verify the user as a resident within the housing system.
"With ongoing concern for housing security expenses and decreasing budgets, the kiosk self-service program is an extremely cost-effective solution as an alternative to solving the issue of lost or misplaced keycards," said Dale Mathias, vice president of multihousing sales. "This unattended system is on duty 24 hours a day."
