Iowa cemetery to install information kiosk

An information kiosk at the Clear Lake Cemetery in Clear Lake, Iowa, will make it easier for people to locate the grave sites of loved ones, Beth Ann Schumacher, president of the the Clear Lake Historical Society, recently told the Clear Lake City Council.

The kiosk will provide an alphabetized list of all persons buried in the cemetery and directions to find them. Eventually the kiosk will also offer GPS coordinates that users can enter on a mobile device. The information in the kiosk will be updated as needed and will link to a pair of websites that help people find grave sites.

Mayor Nelson Crabb said that the kiosk is an example of a successful public-private partnership.
