Hand Held Products broadens kiosk line

SKANEATELES FALLS, N.Y. — Hand Held Products Inc. announced the latest addition to its Image Kiosk 8570 line of self-service mini-kiosks.
Powered by Adaptus Imaging Technology 5.0 and based on the Windows CE 5.0 operating system, the IK8570 enables retailers to assist customers by providing a range of self-service functions, including price checking, product look-up, and frequent shopper or loyalty-program administration.
Features of the IK8570 include omni-directional scanning of barcodes, the integration of a magnetic-stripe-card reader, non-payment transactions, LCD touchscreen, and a USB port for peripheral connectivity.
The IK8570's WebScan software enables integration of barcode-scanning functionality with existing Web-based applications. It alsocomes equipped with an Intel Xscale 200 MHz processor, and 64MB of Flash and SDRAM.
