Free Wi-Fi kiosks planned for Detroit

October 14, 2019

Interactive kiosks with free Wi-Fi are coming to downtown Detroit thanks to a 15-year agreement between the Downtown Detroit Partnership and IKE Smart City, according to The Detroit News.

The agreement calls for at least 30 kiosks in the core and neighborhood districts that will provide information about shopping, dining and city services.

Detroit will be the first city to deploy the IKE kiosks without security cameras because of concerns about privacy, according to the report.
