TD Bank has temporality shut down its coin kiosks for testing, due to an Action News report, which found 16 kiosks in Pennsylvania that inaccurately counted coins. The reporters tested kiosks from TD Bank, Coinstar and PNC Bank, according to the report.

The reporters found a variety of kiosks that were inaccurate, with one TD Bank's Penny Arcade kiosk coming up $2.33 short. Other kiosks were off by several cents. "Anything that is off even by a single penny, we will fail it," said Scott Traynor, employee of the Camden County Department of Weights and Measures in New Jersey.

However, the reporters found there was no state oversight on coin kiosks in Pennsylvania, where they performed the tests.

Following the report, Coinstar released a statement on its kiosks, that said the company's "number one goal is to provide its customers with a satisfying and reliable experience...it has refined technology and implemented regular maintenance schedules to service, clean, calibrate and test the machines to ensure reliability and high accuracy levels...rigorous testing has delivered extremely accurate coin counting and more than 95 percent machine uptime."
