Cale America has found a new purpose for its solar-powered parking kiosks – a percentage of parking fees are donated to the Children's Cancer Center of Tampa (Florida).
The CCC provides education, emotional and financial support to families coping with childhood cancer and chronic blood disorders. Cale's event sponsorship, parking kiosk donations and matching donations allowed the Cancer Center to exceed its annual funding goal. The kiosks accept cash, coins and credit cards.
"We are so grateful to Cale America and their corporate team for their efforts to help raise money for these families," said Patty O'Leary, Chief Operating Officer for the Children's Cancer Center, in the company announcement. "Using Cale's parking terminal to collect donations is a fun and creative way for people to get involved in our mission."
The company also a provided donation kiosk housed at the Center's headquarters in Tampa as well as a portable kiosk for events such as the hospital's 40th anniversary.
"Many of our Cale employees really enjoy volunteering and helping raise money for the kids," said Andreas Jansson, Managing Director for Cale America, in the news release. "Our parking meter was dubbed by CCC as the 'Love Meter.' It is more fun to pay a parking meter if you know your money is going to such an important cause."
