Calgary, Alberta marketing/software company launches multi-functional kiosks

Jan. 6, 2017

Storm Division, a marketing and software solutions provider in Calgary, Alberta, has launched Storm Kiosks that allow client businesses to gain customer feedback in addition to other features, according to The Calgary Herald.

Its first units were leased to Jack Astor’s Bar & Grill, The Tommyfield Gastro Pub and Starbelly restaurant, giving management at those establishments instant reviews of the service in their establishments.

The free-standing kiosks, featuring a 22-inch touchscreen, are stationed near the entrances where customers waiting for a table can scan the menu and check for specials or promotions. After the meal, it takes seconds to leave feedback that will help the restaurant better understand its strengths and weaknesses, evaluate staff and learn where customers heard about the business.

Forty Storm Kiosks are in use, including one at Priddis Greens Golf & Country Club with a video of the courses that helped sell 30 memberships on its initial promotion.

The kiosk at Rangeland RV and Trailer Sales, besides showing its inventory, has a "spin to win" feature that gives customers the chance to win an oil change, service or other prizes.

The newest kiosk opened earlier this week in the poker room at Cowboys Casino. Players can swipe a casino card to register and an email is sent to confirm their VIP membership.
