Dhaka, Bangladesh-based Bangalink Digital Communications has launched self-service top-up kiosks where customers can top up their mobile phone accounts. Banglalink, the second largest cellular service provider in Bangladesh, is owned by Global Telecom Holding.
Bangalink says that kiosks accepting cash and bank notes have been placed in five locations in Dhaka and that more machines will soon be placed in locations such as university campuses, shopping malls and housing complexes.
The self-service top-up kiosks are installed and maintained by Bangalink’s partner Eastcompeace Smart Card Bangladesh, a subsidiary of Chinese smart card and system provider Eastcompeace.
Eastcompeace Smart Card Bangladesh manufactures SIM and scratch cards for telecoms operators as well as providing value-added services and kiosk-based mobile top-up services. The company also provides smart card management and card personalization services in Bangladesh.
