Aruba social insurance agency opens pension services kiosk

Aruba's Social Insurance Bank, or SVB, has opened a service kiosk at MFA Paradera to give pensioners, future retirees and older residents easier access to information and assistance. The kiosk allows pensioners to obtain information and gives people approaching retirement an opportunity to ask about their rights, pension status and steps they need to take before retiring. SVB Director Edwin Jacobs said about 65 people registered within a short period during the launch event, which was expected to attract nearly 250 current and future pensioners. An SVB representative also will be available at MFA Paradera once a week to provide assistance and help residents use the digital services.

SVB plans to expand the model to other parts of Aruba, with Santa Cruz expected to be the next location, followed by Savaneta and eventually MFA San Nicolas. Government officials said the initiative is intended to make public services more accessible while recognizing that some residents, particularly older adults, may need personal assistance as more government services move to digital channels.
